JURONG EAST MODIFICATION PROJECT (JEMP) Introduction JEMP is a key infrastructural upgrading project by the Land Transport Authority. It adds a new platform and track for the Jurong East MRT Station, which provides connections between the North-South (NS) and East-West (EW) lines. The new platform (Platform A/B) was introduced during the morning peak hours on weekdays in May 2011 to ease the crowding situation at the Jurong East Interchange Station. Starting from 27 Dec 2011, Platform A/B will also be opened during the evening peak hours from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays (except public holidays). To benefit more commuters, the operating hours of Platform A/B during the morning peak hours on weekdays (except public holidays) will be extended by one hour to 10am. From 27 Dec 2011, commuters will enjoy more space to board the train during the following operating hours:
Getting Around As with all interchanges, commuters may need to change platforms to transfer to another line. To get around, you only need to remember these four easy steps: Step 1: LISTEN to the audio announcements in the train and at the station; Step 2: CHECK the train platform and schedule on the Passenger Information Display screens; Step 3: FOLLOW the signs at the concourse and platform to find your way; and Step 4: ASK the service ambassadors or staff if you need help.
