These additional safety requirements enhance the visibility of school buses. The automatic activation of the hazard warning lights and red blinking LED lights will also warn motorists that school children are boarding and alighting from the bus. All school buses and private buses licensed to carry school children that are found without these devices will be liable, upon conviction, to a fine of up to $1,000 or a jail term of up to three months. Repeat offenders are liable, upon conviction, to a fine of up to $2,000 or a jail term of up to six months. If you need more information, please call 1800 - CALL LTA (1800-2255 582).
