Factsheet: Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) Trial to Offer Real-time Travel Information to Commuters on Buses
For commuters to better plan and coordinate their journeys and travel options, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will carry out a two month-long trial for the Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) starting from 08 December 2016. The trial kicks off on one MAN A22 bus deployed on Service 106. Please refer to the factsheet attached, for more information and photos.

Factsheet: Celebrating Christmas with Winter Wonderland-themed MRT Station & Train
In the spirit of Yuletide, the Land Transport Authority in collaboration with public transport operator SBS Transit has launched a Christmas-themed train on the North East Line. Factsheet: Facilitating the one-north AV Test-Bed
Since January 2015, the Land Transport Authority (LTA), in partnership with JTC, has designated one-north as the first Autonomous Vehicle (AV) test-bed in Singapore, where interested applicants can test out their vehicles’ navigation control on public roads. Currently, there are four distinct local and international parties carrying out regular autonomous vehicle on-road testing at one-north. Please refer to the attached Fact Sheet for more information.

Factsheet: LTA Steps Up Enforcement to Deter Reckless Use of Bicycles and Personal Mobility Devices
Since May this year, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has carried out more than 400 enforcement deployments across Singapore, with emphasis on HDB towns and industrial estates. More than 700 advisories have been issued to cyclists and personal mobility device users caught riding in an unsafe manner. Instances of reckless behaviour include riding power-assisted bicycles (PABs) on footpaths, cycling at night without bike lights which poses a danger to other users, and failing to give way to pedestrians. Factsheet: Singapore’s First Fully Automated Underground Bicycle Parking System at Kampung Admiralty
From early 2017, Kampung Admiralty residents will be able to try out Singapore’s first fully automated underground bicycle parking system. Cyclists will be able to store their bicycles and cycling gear securely, and protect their bicycles from theft, vandalism, and the weather. Catering to the growing cycling population at Admiralty, the underground system can store around 500 bicycles, hence saving land that would otherwise be used for at-grade bicycle parking. SMRT Trains and SMRT Light Rail to Transit to New Rail Financing Framework
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT Trains Limited (SMRT Trains) have concluded discussions on the transition of the North-South and East-West Lines (NSEWL), the Circle Line (CCL) and the Bukit Panjang LRT (BPLRT) to the New Rail Financing Framework (NRFF), which had been announced by the Government in 2008 and implemented for the Downtown Line (DTL) in 2011. The transition will benefit commuters by bringing about five changes. For more information, please refer to the news release and factsheet attached.
