The Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded two civil contracts for the construction works of five Jurong Region Line (JRL) stations and their associated viaducts. Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co (Singapore) Pte Ltd won the contract to design and construct Choa Chu Kang, Choa Chu Kang West and Tengah stations with a 4.3km viaduct at a contract value of ~$465.2 million. Eng Lee Engineering Pte Ltd - Wai Fong Construction Pte Ltd Joint Venture won the contract to design and construct Hong Kah and Corporation stations with a 3.4-km viaduct at a contract value of $274.3 million. The names used during the announcement of the JRL are tentative working names. For more details, please refer to the attached reply.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is pleased to announce the alignment and station locations for the seventh MRT line in Singapore, the Jurong Region Line (JRL). The JRL will be an elevated MRT line, which will serve existing and future developments in the western part of Singapore, and support the making of Jurong into an attractive place to work, live, learn and play. LTA is embarking on a system-wide effort to improve commuter flow at our MRT stations and enhance the commute experience. Improvements that are being considered include making use of existing void space and adjusting the station furniture to create more platform space, as well as building new lifts and weatherproof facilities for enhanced accessibility.
