LTA Clamps Down On Unlawful Possession of Deregistered Vehicles
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) conducted sting operations on 7 June 2018 at several locations to enforce against car dealers and owners who possessed deregistered vehicles that were either declared as exported, or kept beyond the permissible deadline for the vehicles to be disposed. A total of 120 vehicles, mostly saloon cars, were seized during the operations. The owners of the raided premises are currently assisting with LTA’s investigations. Tougher Enforcement Against Personal Mobility Device Users
From 15 January 2018, Personal Mobility Device (PMD) users caught riding on roads will face tougher enforcement action, as the Land Transport Authority (LTA) strengthens regulations and enhances its penalty regime to deter errant use of PMDs. Factsheet: Partnering the Community for Safer Sharing of Public Paths
More than 200 Active Mobility Patrol (AMP) volunteers were honoured at the inaugural AMP appreciation event held today where Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan presented appreciation plaques to the AMP teams to thank them for their valuable contributions over the past year. Factsheet: LTA Steps Up Enforcement to Deter Reckless Use of Bicycles and Personal Mobility Devices
Since May this year, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has carried out more than 400 enforcement deployments across Singapore, with emphasis on HDB towns and industrial estates. More than 700 advisories have been issued to cyclists and personal mobility device users caught riding in an unsafe manner. Instances of reckless behaviour include riding power-assisted bicycles (PABs) on footpaths, cycling at night without bike lights which poses a danger to other users, and failing to give way to pedestrians. LTA Launches Dedicated Active Mobility Enforcement Team
From today, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will roll out a dedicated team of Active Mobility Enforcement Officers (AMEOs) to encourage safe sharing of paths as well as deter reckless behaviour on bicycles and personal mobility devices (PMDs). This is part of efforts to encourage safe and gracious sharing of paths as more people take up active modes of commuting such as walking, cycling and using PMDs. LTA trying out CCTVs to track illegal parking
We refer the letters from Harry Tong (CCTVs a more reliable enforcement option), Chee Chi Weng (LTA needs to be more proactive in preventing hogging of bus bays) and R. Jaichandra (Government agencies should modernise feedback mechanism) in the Straits Times and ST Interactive on 27 October 2012. Our officers conduct regular patrols to enforce against motorists who park their vehicles illegally and obstruct traffic flow.

LTA clears the air on traffic summonses
