We refer to Mr Teng Swee Tian’s letter “Switch off some expressway lights” (TODAY, 18 November). Our expressway network is well utilised even after midnight, so it is important to ensure that there is minimum lighting for safe driving.

We thank Reader 031 for her feedback "Crossing the road here is mind boggling" (Lianhe Wanbao, July 28). Jurong East Street 21 is a 10m wide two way road with one lane in each direction. Pedestrians are unlikely to use an pedestrian overhead bridge to cross such a narrow road. As such, instead of a pedestrian overhead bridge, we will be providing a signalised pedestrian crossing at the location.
