The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has reviewed its Travel Smart Programme to take into account rail network enhancements in recent years and changes to commuter travel patterns. Following its review, LTA will be concluding the Travel Smart Rewards (TSR) programme and will introduce a new initiative called Travel Smart Journeys (TSJ) later this year. Commuters can now travel smarter with “Travel Smart Information”, a programme which the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will pilot from July this year. To help commuters have more comfortable rides, location-specific information such as the more crowded travelling times and train cars will be put up at 20 of the busiest train stations, such as Yishun and Ang Mo Kio. On 1 April 2017, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will launched an enhanced Travel Smart Rewards (TSR) scheme. The enhanced TSR experience will be more interactive with new games and include personalised features to nudge participants to travel off-peak to earn more rewards. At Travel Smart Day 2016, LTA announced that more than 100 organisations have joined the Travel Smart Network since its launch on 1 August 2014. The Travel Smart Network is an initiative by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to encourage employers to reduce the demand for peak hour travel in their organisations, and the use of more sustainable modes of travel. Travel Smart Network started in July 2012 with a two-year pilot that involved 12 organisations. Following the successful conclusion of the pilot, Travel Smart Network was launched in July 2014. Today, Travel Smart Network organisations are able to tap on three new initiatives. For more details, please refer to the attached press release.

More than 60 organisations with over 160,000 employees have joined the Travel Smart Network since its launch on 1 August 2014. Under the Travel Smart Network, the Government provides funding to organisations that help their employees travel during the off-peak periods as well as to use alternative modes of transport such as walking and cycling.
