Active mobility infrastructure includes all pedestrian paths, cycling paths, shared paths, covered/sheltered linkways, associated signs and structures. The Active Mobility Act was passed by Parliament in January 2017 to ensure pedestrians, cyclists and personal mobility device (PMD) users share public paths safely.
Qualified Persons undertaking Active Mobility projects in public housing estates must consult LTA with the relevant plans for assessment and compliance with the Active Mobility Act:
- All types of paths
- Covered linkways
- Barriers
- Signage
The Active Mobility Plan (AMP) submission should be submitted to the LTA Active Mobility Group (AMG) for consultation and approval, independent of whether a Development Control (DC) submission is required. For projects where a DC submission is required, the clearance letter from LTA-AMG is required.
The AMP consists of the following plans:
- Location plans (reference location, alignment);
- Architectural plans;
- Plans illustrating proposed signs, markings and wayfinding;
- 1st storey plan(s) with dimensions and finishes; and
- Any other plans, diagrams and illustrations of the proposal as necessary.
