In response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been working with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Point-to-Point (P2P) operators, the National Taxi Association (NTA) and the National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) on precautionary measures for the P2P sector. The National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) and the National Taxi Association (NTA), which represents private hire drivers and taxi drivers, have worked together with the Land Transport Authority (LTA), taxi operators and private-hire car operators to put together a tripartite care package to support quarantined drivers. There have been posts on social media claiming that Woodlands MRT was closed for disinfection on Tuesday, 28 Jan 2020 due to a suspected case of the Wuhan coronavirus infection. The posts urged members of the public not to go to Woodlands MRT. This is not true. Woodlands MRT is not closed. We advise members of the public to not speculate and/or spread unfounded rumours.
