Following the passing of the Point-to-Point (P2P) Passenger Transport Industry Bill in August 2019, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) introduced a new regulatory framework for the P2P sector in October 2020.
Under this framework, P2P service operators with 800 or more vehicles on their platforms providing ride-hailing or car-pooling services must apply for and be awarded the relevant licences in order to operate from October 2020.
P2P operators that wish to apply for a Ride-Hail Service Operator Licence (RSOL) (PDF, 695kB) or Car-Pool Service Operator Licence (CSOL) (PDF, 568kB) can submit the application form(s) to LTA. A non-refundable application fee of $2,500 applies for each application. For more information, please refer to the news release here on the opening of the licence application.
