We refer to the recent letters on the taxi availability standards in The Straits Times (3 Dec and 29 Nov 2012)
Our aim with the taxi availability framework is to increase utilisation of the taxi fleet. A balanced and graduated approach is taken to achieve improvements for commuters while ensuring that the taxi industry is able to transit to the new standards.
Besides taxi availability, LTA also regulates the service standards of the taxi industry through Quality of Service (QoS) standards, and we will continue to ensure that the stipulated standards are met.
