2. The UITP awards recognise public transport stakeholders that have shown innovation in their efforts to boost the quality and quantity of public transport and thereby promoting its growth and usage. The awards are given at both the international and regional levels in various categories.
3. At the International level, LTA’s “MyTransport.SG – Your One-Stop Integrated Transport Companion” edged out two other finalists from Daimler AG (Germany) and Transport for London (United Kingdom) for the Integrated Mobility Innovation category. Since its introduction in 2010, MyTransport.SG has won several awards internationally and domestically (please refer to Annex A for the awards won by MyTransport.SG).
4. The awards attracted more than 240 applications from over 40 countries. LTA Chairman, Mr Michael Lim, received the award from Mr. Ousmane Thiam (Senegal), President of the Association in Geneva at the opening ceremony of the 60th UITP World Congress & Exhibition (please refer to Annex B for photos at the award ceremony).
5. Mr Chew Hock Yong, Chief Executive, LTA said: “ MyTransport.SG is the product of co-creation by the public and LTA, with LTA seeking ideas from public on what is useful to them and encouraging third- party developers to contribute innovative mobile applications by leveraging on the transport data that we share with them. We are encouraged by the recognition from UITP for our efforts in growing our public transport system with the involvement of our stakeholders."
