Survey respondents can provide extra feedback

Media Replies 16 Aug 2013

We refer to Dr Ching Jianhong’s letter, “Public transport survey a let-down” (ST Online, 6 August 2013).

The survey mentioned by Dr Ching is conducted yearly to gather information on the latest travel characteristics of commuters. It seeks to understand the cost, service quality, frequency and crowding conditions of the public transport experience by the respondents. The results will help LTA better evaluate the effectiveness of our policies and plans from year to year.

As part of this survey, respondents may provide their suggestions on enhancing the attractiveness of public transport. The surveyors will record any additional feedback during  the interview. To highlight this in future, we will include an open-ended question in our next survey.

We thank Dr Ching for his feedback.
