A More Convenient and Comfortable Commute for Bedok Residents

1.        Bedok residents can look forward to a more convenient and comfortable commuting experience when the new Bedok Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) opens in the fourth quarter of 2014. The 1.6 hectare ITH will provide air-conditioned access for commuters transferring at the bus interchange and Bedok MRT Station. In addition to being linked to Bedok Mall, there will be 400 sqm of commercial space in the ITH for the convenience of commuters. The new interchange is expected to benefit about 40,000 commuters daily.

2.        The Bedok ITH will be served by 27 bus services1 and have 10 boarding and five alighting berths. Equipped with barrier-free facilities, the ITH will have dedicated boarding points and graduated kerb edges to facilitate easier boarding of passengers in wheelchair. It will also have better amenities for bus captains and other staff such as a bigger staff lounge and kitchen facilities in the staff canteen.

Notable features include energy efficient lighting for the concourse, LED lighting for the driveway and bus park area, as well as a water-cooled air-conditioning system.
