Emergency exercises held on regular basis

Media Replies 03 Sep 2014

We refer to Mr Allan Zheng’s letter dated 25 Aug 2014.

LTA regularly reviews our public transport emergency preparedness and response procedures. This includes the conduct of large-scale ground deployment exercises as well as table-top exercises to test the readiness of the Public Transport Operators (PTOs) in various scenarios.

Regular audits are also conducted at train stations to ensure that all transport staff are familiar with the Rail and Bus Incident Management Plans, and are aware of their roles during an incident. The audits cover key incident management areas such as customer service, information dissemination and bus bridging.

LTA will continue working with the PTOs to improve their proficiencies in emergency preparedness and incident management.
