No need for photo evidence

Media Replies 22 Jan 2015

We refer to Dr Bala S. Rajaratnam’s letter, “Provide proof of road offences” (13 Jan 2015, Straits Times).

When issuing Notices of Traffic Offence, photographic evidence is not required by law, even in places where CCTVs are in operation. The enforcement in most locations is also monitored through regular patrols by  enforcement officers. If an offence is committed , the enforcement officer will write down all the necessary details when lodging a summons report.

We thank Dr Bala for his feedback.
