As part of the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), new Service 258 will be introduced from Saturday, 21 November 2015, while Service 49 will be extended to Jurong
East with effect from Sunday, 22 November 2015. The details are:
- Service 258: from Joo Koon to Boon Lay (Loop)
- Service 49: from Jurong East to Jurong West Street 42 (Loop)
Service 258
New Service 258 will be introduced from 21 November 2015 with the opening of the new Joo Koon Bus Interchange. The new route will ply Upper Jurong Road, Pioneer Road North and Jurong West Street 63, 61, 71, 81, 82, 75 and 64. It will enhance connectivity to Joo Koon, Pioneer and Boon Lay MRT/ Bus Interchanges and local amenities such as Fairprice Hub, Gek Poh Shopping Centre and Jurong Point, and schools in the Jurong West area. Service 258 will operate daily from 6.00am to 11.45pm from Joo Koon Bus Interchange, and from 5.30am to 12.10am from Boon Lay Bus Interchange.
Service 49
From 22 November 2015, Service 49 will have its existing route extended to Jurong East. Currently, the service plies between Taman Jurong and Jurong West. The extended route will enhance connectivity for commuters in the Taman Jurong area to Jurong East MRT/ Bus Interchange and local amenities such as Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and commercial malls in Jurong East.
Service 49 will operate daily from 6.00am to 11.30pm. Starting from Jurong East Bus Interchange, the extended route will ply Jurong Gateway Road, Jurong East Central, Boon Lay Way, Jurong Town Hall Road and Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim en route to Taman Jurong and Jurong West. With the extension, Service 49 will not call at three bus stops along Yuan Ching Road - located in front of Block 138B (Bus stop 21761), in front of Jurong Secondary School (Bus stop 21751) and opposite Jurong Secondary School (Bus stop 21759).
