Flyovers Connecting Yishun and Seletar Aerospace Park to CTE
to Open on 28 November
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be opening the new flyovers connecting Yishun and Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP) to Central Expressway (CTE) at 5am on Saturday, 28 November 2015.
2 From 28 November, motorists heading towards Yishun or SAP from CTE (SLE) can use the new Exit 16. In the opposite direction, motorists from Yishun and SAP can also connect directly to CTE (City) and Yio Chu Kang Road via Seletar West Link.
3 The new roads will offer motorists access to Yishun and SAP with an alternative connection to the expressway network, easing the current heavy traffic conditions experienced along Lentor Avenue and Yishun Avenue 2.
4 Please refer to the Annex for the location map of the new road network.
Direct connections to the expressways and improving road connectivity to Yishun Town
5 Works to expand the vehicular interchange began in 2012, to create a new connection to Seletar West Link from the three expressways, Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP) and Yishun Town. As part of the project, four new flyovers were built to connect the expressway and the area’s road network.
6 LTA has also widened the stretch of TPE between Seletar Flyover and Seletar Aerospace Flyover and SLE between Seletar Flyover and Lentor Avenue. The existing Yio Chu Kang Flyover has also been widened from three lanes to four lanes in both directions.
7 In conjunction with the expansion project, LTA has also carried out several road improvement works to improve connectivity to Yishun Town. A stretch of Yishun Avenue 8 between Yishun Ave 1 and Yishun Ave 6 was opened in January 2015 to serve as a new alternative road link for motorists travelling from Yishun to Seletar West Link, while Seletar West Link was also widened to dual 3-lanes.
8 With the additions to the road network, motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and follow the traffic signs on site to help them navigate to their destinations. More information on the road network changes is also available on the LTA home page (www.lta.gov.sg) and onemotoring.lta.gov.sg.
