Towards a Car-Lite Singapore with New Car-Lite Champion award category
As part of the push for a Walk Cycle Ride Singapore, this year’s Land Transport Excellence Awards (LTEA) 2016 will feature a new award category – the Car-Lite Champion – to recognise organisations that implement initiatives to make walking, cycling, and riding the public transport more attractive to their employees.
2 The Awards will also honour outstanding organisations and individuals that play pivotal roles in shaping a land transport system that enables active mobility and encourages people to take the public transport in Singapore.
3 The Awards seek to set new benchmarks and help create a Singapore brand for industry players as they work together to enhance travel experiences for commuters. It is also an excellent platform to showcase some of the best industry practices in Singapore’s land transport system.
4 Since the inaugural LTEA in 2008, more than 70 award winners have been honoured for their exemplary commitment and dedication in developing a people-centred land transport system in Singapore.
5 The Awards pay tribute to organisations that are commuter-centric, sustainable, and innovative. The Awards also recognise individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of Singapore’s land transport system, as well as those who have delivered high service standards.
6 All fourteen awards are now open for nominations. Please refer to the Annex for a complete list of award categories.
7 Nominations for the Awards can be made at http://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltaweb/en/transportawards/. The closing date for submission is 31 May 2016.
