The Land Transport Authority (LTA) was presented with the City on a Cloud Innovation Leadership Award from the Amazon Web Services (AWS) in recognition of its innovative and outstanding use of cloud-based solutions and tools.

2.  The Award was presented at the AWS Public Sector Summit held on 21 June 2016 in Washington, DC. Singapore edged out stiff competition from all around the world to clinch the Award for the first time. It is also the first time a city outside the United States has been honoured with this Award.

3.  Receiving the award on behalf of LTA, Mrs Rosina Howe, Group Director, Innovation and Information Technology said, "LTA’s journey towards an Open Innovation Platform started off with the launch of DataMall@MyTransport.SG in November 2011. Through the use of public cloud technology to deliver a cost-effective, robust and scalable data sharing platform, we can effectively share real-time transport data with technopreneurs and the academia for co-creation of innovative transport solutions. This is also in line with the Singapore Government’s efforts to promote and support co-creation of smarter solutions and services with our citizens, industries and research institutions.”

4.  LTA hosts DataMall@MyTransport.SG on the cloud to provide a single and rich source of land transport datasets, which includes both real-time and geospatial information. By facilitating the sharing of extensive real-time transport data in the public domain, third-party smart phone application developers can effortlessly tap on LTA’s data, such as real-time bus arrival timings, to co-create smarter transport solutions. The Open Innovation Platform, DataMall@MyTransport, has set a new record of 600 million API (Application Programming Interface) downloads in the month of May 2016.
