LTA working to enable more online transactions

Media Replies 03 Jun 2017 vehicle transfer

We refer to Ng Kei Yong’s letter ‘Let simple transactions be done online’ (23 May).

LTA requires proof that vehicle transfer applications are authorised by the registered vehicle owner. To do so, besides carrying out the transfer at LTA, the registered owner can also choose to apply online via the One.Motoring website for a Transaction Pin (TPin). With the TPin, the transfer can be made through any authorised electronic service agent (ESA). A list of CaseTrust-SVTA accredited ESAs can be found on the One.Motoring website.

We will also be replacing the TPin with SingPass two-factor authentication (2FA) to enable more transactions, including vehicle transfers, to be performed online directly between transacting parties.

We thank Mr Ng for his feedback.
