Ample signs for motorists heading to Thomson Road

Media Replies 17 Sep 2008 Variable Message Sign (VMS)

We thank Mr Kim Moon Ki for his letter "Braddell Road Sign Too Far Down" (My Paper, September 3).

The sign that Mr Kim sighted is a temporary one situated before the Bishan Flyover to guide motorists on Braddell Road to keep left so as to enter Thomson Road/Upper Thomson Road. Prior to the temporary sign on Braddell Road, and before the Toa Payoh North Flyover, we have also placed four signs with similar messages. These include a gantry sign, a directional sign and two temporary signs. In addition, two Variable Message Signboards were installed before the Toa Payoh North Flyover. These also consistently display the "Thomson Road, Upper Thomson Road - Keep Left" messages.

Motorists travelling on Lornie Road to go to Braddell Road are also guided by ample advanced directional signs situated before the MacRitchie Viaduct.

We will continue to monitor the traffic in this area to determine if additional signs are required.
