Buona Vista station "The LTA will work with SMRT to improve signage"

Media Replies 02 Apr 2012

We refer to Mr Wong Boon Hong's letter “Buona Vista station” (The Straits Times, 28 March 2012).

We wish to clarify that the main entrance to the East West Line station has not been closed. There are three escalators that lead commuters from street level to the concourse level; and then to the platform level.

With the opening of the CCL Buona Vista station in October 2011, we have modified the EWL Buona Vista station so that commuters can move smoothly between the two stations through a paid 'transfer level'. There are also signages in this area directing passengers to either the street level or to make transfer between stations.

LTA will work with SMRT to further improve the signage at the transfer level and expect these works to be completed by the end of April.

We thank Mr Wong for his feedback.
