High Speed Rail
The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) is a strategic project between the Governments of Malaysia and Singapore. LTA’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SG HSR Pte. Ltd., will oversee the building of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR project. It will also own, fund and maintain the civil infrastructure in Singapore.
It will facilitate seamless travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and cut the travel time between the two cities to 90 minutes.
On 5 Sep 2018, the Government of the Republic of Singapore and the Government of Malaysia announced that Singapore has, in the spirit of bilateral cooperation, agreed to Malaysia’s proposal to suspend the construction of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR Project up to 31 May 2020.
Location of Stations
The terminus stations will be located in Bandar Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur and Jurong East in Singapore.
The Jurong East terminus will be easily accessible by four MRT lines: the existing East-West and North-South Lines at Jurong East MRT station and upcoming Jurong Region Line and Cross Island Line. It will also be served by the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub.
