What is the Punggol LRT?

The Punggol LRT was opened in 2005 to serve the residents in the Punggol township. The third LRT line links commuters from the residential areas to Punggol MRT station on the North-East Line and the Punggol Bus Interchange.

The LRT line has 15 stations with 8 in operation to serve the more populated areas of Punggol.

Improvements to Seng Kang Punggol LRT

As more developments are coming up in the area, the Punngol LRT will be upgraded to a two-car system to increase its capacity. 16 more trains will also be added into the Sengkang Punggol LRT network, increasing the train fleet by about 40%. Commuters can look forward to a more comfortable journey when the upgrading and modification works are completed by 2016.
