Switchover of ERP Gantries at Woodsville Interchange
With the opening of WVT, LTA has reinstated the ERP gantry along Bendemeer Rd to its original position about 100m from its current location.
As an alternative route leading towards the city centre, a new gantry situated at the exit of the new WVT towards Bendemeer Rd is also in operation. The new gantry manages traffic on the radial roads leading towards the city centre.
Removal of Whampoa North
The existing at-grade road junction was also reconfigured to improve overall traffic flow. Whampoa North Interchange was removed in September 2011.
Completion of Flyover
Opened and completed in July 2011, this 400m long flyover allows motorists to bypass the Woodsville Junction. It starts from Jalan Toa Payoh, connects to Jalan Kolam Ayer and finally reaches Kallang Way and PIE (Changi).
Keeping the Community Up-to-Date
LTA set up a project community and control centre, where officers and residents living near the construction site engaged in dialogue about the upgrading of Woodsville Interchange. The one-stop centre for stakeholders has been well received by the public. As the project draws to a close, it ceased operations on 29 February 2012.
