Shared public path behind bus stop

The Active Mobility (AM) Act was passed by Parliament in January 2017 with the intent of ensuring pedestrians, cyclists and personal mobility device (PMD) users share public paths safely. With effect from 1 January 2018, Qualified Persons undertaking project work in public housing estates of the following Active Mobility (AM) projects listed below are required to consult LTA with the relevant plans for assessment and compliance with the AM Act:

    a. All types of paths

    b. Covered linkways

    c. Barriers

    d. Signage

The Active Mobility Plan (AMP) submission should be submitted to the LTA Active Mobility Unit (AMU) for consultation and approval, independent of whether a DC submission is required. For projects where a DC submission is required, the clearance letter from LTA-AMU will be needed for DC clearance. The AMP consists of the following plans:

    a. Location plans (reference location, alignment);

    b. Architectural plans;

    c. Plans illustrating proposed signs, markings and wayfinding;

    d. 1st storey plan(s) with dimensions and finishes; and

    e. Any other plans, diagrams and illustrations of the proposal as necessary.
