Mid-block bicycle crossings separates pedestrians and cyclists at road crossings,
allowing cyclists to ride safely across roads without the need to dismount.
Signs which alert motorists to the presence of cyclists on the road along popular training and commuting routes will be made more visible. LTA is working with Singapore Cycling Federation and Safe Cycling Taskforce to identify more routes where such signs may be put up.
Cyclists will be taught how to cycle safely on the roads, and more off-road cycling paths will be built so cyclists can stay off the roads.
LTA has also implemented 13 mid-block bicycle crossings in towns such as Tampines, Simei and Sembawang so that cyclists can ride safely across roads separately from pedestrians without the need to dismount.
