Commuters can start enjoying the Thomson-East Coast Line in stages from 2019.


2019: Better connectivity in woodlands

Residents in the Woodlands community will be better connected to the rail network as the TEL links them directly to the North-South Line.

2020: Thomson gets on board

More food and dining options as the TEL extends southward to the Thomson area and connects commuters to the Circle Line.

2021: Direct Access to the CBD and Marina Bay

Hop on to the TEL for work or leisure! Commuters going to Shenton Way, Orchard or Gardens by the Bay have the option of breezing there by train.
 
A more direct route means you can travel to Orchard from Woodlands South in just 35-minute on the TEL, compared to a 50-minute journey by bus and MRT today.

2023: Journey to the east

Commuters along the East Coast can look forward to time-savings in their daily commute to the CBD or the northern areas of Singapore as 7 more stations add to the TEL from Tanjong Rhu to Bayshore. 

With direct connection, a Republic Polytechnic student who stays near Parkway Parade can reach home after a hour’s ride, 20 minutes faster than the bus ride currently.

2024: The good to come

The TEL will fully complete in 2024 and will serve about 1 million commuters daily in years to come, and also helps relieve crowding on the East-West and North-South Lines.
