To improve commuter service and strengthen the reliability and resilience of our transport system, temporary train service adjustments are needed for renewal and expansion works.
These adjustments have been carefully planned to ensure that commuters will always have access to alternative rail routes and bus services where possible. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and expect additional travelling time.
Please refer to LTA's MyTransport.SG mobile app and LTA’s and the public transport operators’ social media platforms for more details and updates.
1. Line: Circle Line (CCL)
When? From 17 January to 19 April 2026, CCL trains between Mountbatten to Paya Lebar stations will operate from one platform only. A shuttle train will serve these stations.
Travelling to Serangoon station? Check the crowd situation first.
There will also be service adjustments along the CCL:
- Peak-hour headways between HarbourFront and Paya Lebar will be 3 mins,
- Headways for CCL shuttle trains between Paya Lebar and Mountbatten stations will be 10 minutes, and
- Headways between Mountbatten and Dhoby Ghaut/Marina Bay will be 10 mins.
Why? The service adjustments are needed for precautionary tunnel strengthening works.
How can I continue my journey? Commuters travelling past these stations will need to alight from their regular train at Paya Lebar (if coming down from MacPherson) or at Mountbatten (if coming up from Stadium station), cross the platform and take the shuttle train connecting to the Mountbatten to Paya Lebar stretch to continue along the Circle Line.
During weekday peak hours, CCL interchange stations are expected to be crowded during morning and evening peak periods. Shuttle bus services will be provided to supplement CCL train services. These services will commence on 5 January, about a week before the start of the tunnel closure, so that commuters can familiarise themselves with a new travel route.
- Shuttle 38 between Paya Lebar and Stadium stations, operating between 6.30am to 9.30 am and 5pm to 8pm, at headways of 6 to 10 minutes;

2. Line: East-West Line (EWL)
When? From 14 to 17 March, there will be no train service between Tanah Merah and Expo stations. Train services between Tuas Link to Pasir Ris stations and Expo and Changi Airport stations will continue to operate normally.
Why? The service adjustments are needed to disconnect the reception tracks linking the EWL to Changi Depot, following the successful operationalisation of the East Coast Integrated Depot.
How can I continue my journey? Commuters travelling between Tanah Merah and Expo stations can take Shuttle Bus Service Shuttle 8 (S8), which will operate at frequencies of about 5 to 8 minutes.
Train services between Expo and Changi Airport stations will run at 7-minute intervals. The frequency for the rest of the EWL will not be affected.
Passengers going to the City from Changi Airport may also choose to switch to the Downtown Line (DTL) at Expo station to continue their journey.

A dedicated shuttle bus service (Sengkang West Shuttle Bus Service A / Sengkang West Shuttle Bus Service B) will operate during weekday morning and evening peak periods to supplement LRT services.
