Public Transport Safety and Security Awards

The Public Transport Safety and Security Awards (PTSSA) is an annual event organised to recognise Public Transport Operators (PTOs), Point-to-Point (P2P) operators and the workers for their efforts in ensuring safety and security in our Public Transport (PT) network. There is a total of five award categories under the PTSSA:

Operator Awards

Operational and Workplace Safety Award (Bus Operator)
Operational and Workplace Safety Award (Rail Operator)
Operational Safety Award (Point-to-Point Operator)

Public Transport Workers Awards

Special Commendation Award
Star Award

For the Operator Awards, an Excellence and Merit Award will be given to the top 2 bus packages, rail lines and P2P operators that have achieved good safety records. For the PT Workers Awards, the nominated candidates will be awarded for their vigilant and spontaneous one-off act with significant impact that prevented a safety or security incident through the Special Commendation Award, as well as for their ground-up efforts to improve the safety and security of the PT network through the Star Award.

PTSSA 2025

Over 450 public transport workers were celebrated for their outstanding safety contributions at this year's Public Transport Safety and Security Awards. The ceremony, held on 22 August 2025 at Home Team NS Khatib, saw Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State for National Development and Transport, honoured individuals who had gone above and beyond to protect commuters across Singapore's expanding transport network.

Operator Awards

Operational and Workplace Safety Award (Bus Operator)

Excellence Award: Tower Transit Singapore Ltd for Contract PT217A (Bulim)
Merit Award: Go-Ahead Singapore for Contract PT201 (Loyang) and SMRT Buses for Contract 216 (Woodlands)

Operational and Workplace Safety Award (Rail Operator)

Excellence Award: SBS Transit Rail Pte Ltd for Sengkang-Punggol Light Rail Transit
Merit Award: SMRT Trains Ltd for Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit and SBS Transit Rail Pte Ltd for North-East Line

Operational Safety Award (Point-to-Point Operator)
