Over the years, Singapore has gained international recognition for creating one of the worlds’ most admired land transport systems. The International Union of Public Transport (UITP), in its 2006 “Mobility in Cities Database” survey of 50 cities, named Singapore, Helsinki and Vienna as having the most striking success in providing an efficient and enjoyable public transport system. Our public transport system was also ranked among the top four in terms of operating cost and affordability of fares to commuters.

The Land Transport Excellence Awards recognise industry partners and individuals who have played an important role in Singapore’s endeavour towards developing an efficient, sustainable and people-centred land transport system. It also seeks to set new benchmarks and help create a Singapore brand for industry players.

Divided into ten categories, the Awards will distinguish organisations which are customer-friendly, eco-friendly and innovative, as well as those with industrial best practices, good project management, quality service provision and design excellence with regards to land transport integration. The Awards will also honour distinguished individuals who have made exceptional contributions to land transport.
