SMRT is currently working hard to recover Bukit Panjang LRT services for the start of revenue service tomorrow morning, Tuesday, 10 March 2015. However, based on the current assessment, there is a possibility that this might not be achieved. LTA will continue working with SMRT in the next few hours to try to restore the services as soon as possible.
2. Based on preliminary investigations, two power tie-breakers at Senja LRT station were damaged. Train service was disrupted on both bounds at about 5.30pm.
3. If LRT services are not able to resume first thing tomorrow morning, SMRT will deploy 40 buses to provide free bridging service at all LRT stations along Service A and B. Commuters can also board for free the regular SMRT bus services at designated bus stops. LTA traffic marshals will be deployed on the ground to facilitate traffic management.
4. LTA and SMRT will provide another update before the start of revenue service at 5am as to whether the Bukit Panjang LRT services are restored. Commuters are advised to check for updates before starting their trip. Information will be available on SMRT websites, LTA and SMRT Facebook and Twitter accounts, LTA Traffic News and MyTransport.SG.
