Taxi Fares & Payment Methods

All about taxi fares

Taxi fares in Singapore are determined independently and privately by taxi companies. All rides are metered and fares vary across taxi operators. There may be surcharges depending on the time and type of booking, location and taxi model.

The LTA, together with the Public Transport Council, work with operators to ensure that certain aspects of fares remain standardised and easy to understand.

Payment modes

You may pay with:

Passengers are able to pay via cash, credit cards, NETS or CEPAS stored-value cards when traveling on a taxi

This is subject to the availability of these payment devices in the taxis. Cashless payment charges may apply.
