In support of the Land Transport Industry Transformation Map (ITM), the Land Transport Authority (LTA), with the support of WSG, has developed the Land Transport Jobs and Workforce study, which serves as the Jobs Transformation Map (JTM) for the land transport sector. The JTMs identify the key technologies that are driving change, the impact on individual job roles, as well as the pathways for employers to transform jobs and for workers to acquire requisite skills as existing job roles evolve and new job roles emerge.
The Land Transport workforce is critical in servicing, operating and maintaining our rail, bus, point-to-point services, and motor vehicles. There are around 3000 companies in this sector, providing jobs to around 100,000 people. The Land Transport Jobs and Workforce study will provide key insights on how these industries can prepare and upskill their workforce to handle the new jobs created by Industry 4.0, Electric and Autonomous Vehicles, as well as, an aging population.
