Encouraging transport safety and reliability with new
operations & maintenance and safety award categories
As part of ongoing efforts to foster a safer and more reliable transport system, the Land Transport Excellence Awards (LTEA) 2019 will feature two new award categories: “Best Land Transport Operations & Maintenance Initiative” and “Most Innovative / Effective Safety Programme by a Public Transport Operator”. These two categories recognise organisations that have demonstrated excellence in operating and maintaining Singapore’s land transport infrastructure, and promoting safety awareness among users of and workers in the public transport sector.
2 Given out every two years, the LTEA celebrates organisations and individuals in the land transport industry that have played a pivotal role in developing a commuter-centric land transport system that enables active mobility and encourages public transport.
3 The Awards seek to set new benchmarks and elevate the branding of industry players as they work together to enhance commuters’ travel experience. The Awards are also a platform to showcase best-in-class industry practices.
4 Since the inaugural LTEA in 2008, more than 90 award recipients have been honoured for their exemplary commitment and dedication towards developing a high-quality and commuter-centric land transport system.

9 | Best Car-Lite Advocate | Recognises and honours the most outstanding organisation(s) for developing, promoting or implementing sustainable mobility initiatives within their developments (e.g. shuttle bus services, end-of-trip facilities, incentives for car-pooling, walking and cycling-friendly features within the development, first and last mile connection from development to transport nodes, flexible working hours/compressed working weeks, PMD/bicycle sharing services, travel demand action). |
