The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a contract to construct a road tunnel, an MRT station box and commuter facilities, including pedestrian overhead bridges, bus stops, sheltered walkways, and cycling paths between Sin Ming Avenue and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 to Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. (Singapore) Pte Ltd. at a contract sum of S$615.90 million. Works on this contract are expected to begin by second quarter of 2019.

2. Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. (Singapore) Pte Ltd will design and construct a 800m long dual 3-lane road tunnel integrated with the future Cross Island Line Teck Ghee MRT station[1] and associated escape staircases and entrances (please refer to Annex A for the location of this section of the NSC).
3. Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. (Singapore) Pte Ltd is an established contractor which had previously completed many railway infrastructure projects with tunnels in Circle Line, Downtown Line and Tuas West Extension. Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. (Singapore) Pte Ltd is currently involved in the construction of tunnels between Woodlands Avenue 12 to Mandai Depot, Shenton Way Station and Tunnels, Katong Park Station and Tunnels, and Bayshore Station and Tunnels for Thomson-East Coast Line.
About the NSC
The 21.5km NSC is Singapore’s first integrated transport corridor, featuring continuous bus lanes and at-grade cycling trunk routes, to serve public bus commuters, cyclists and pedestrians, in line with our car-lite vision. The NSC is expected to be completed in 2026.
