The Land Transport Authority (LTA) launched the Active Commute Grant (ACG) today, to encourage more developers to support those who adopt active commutes to work by providing end-of-trip facilities.
The ACG is an enhancement of the Travel Smart Grant (Developer) scheme, which will feature wider eligibility criteria, expanding the grant to light and general industrial developments, as well as existing developments carrying out simple retrofitting works. Please refer to Annex A for a summary of the enhancements in the ACG.
Under the ACG, LTA will co-fund up to 80% of the construction cost for end-of-trip amenities such as showers, lockers, changing rooms, wayfinding signage to these facilities as well as necessary security features – up to a maximum of $80,000 per development.
Providing more end-of-trip facilities at workplaces is part of LTA’s efforts to promote active mobility as a mode of transport, by making it easier and more convenient for employees to freshen up at the end of their journeys to the office.
Developers can apply for the ACG between 2 Nov 2019 and 30 June 2021, when applications close.
