Situated along Seletar Expressway bounded by Mandai Road, the 32-hectare Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) Mandai Depot is an integrated rail and bus depot.
The train depot will have an Operation Control Centre (OCC), a Depot Control Centre (DCC), a stabling yard with capacity for 90 four-car trains, administration buildings, storage warehouses, workshops capable of servicing 11 trains concurrently and ancillary facilities for storage, cleaning, maintenance and overhaul to ensure smooth and safe operations of the TEL train fleet and associated railway systems.
The bus depot will provide parking and maintenance facilities for at least 550 buses.
The construction of Mandai Depot was awarded to Jurong Primewide Pte Ltd for S$329 million in October 2013 and construction works started in December 2013.
Progress Updates for Other TEL Stations
Stage 2: Springleaf - Lentor - Mayflower - Bright Hill - Upper Thomson - Caldecott
TEL Stage 2 is about 90% complete. Structural works for stations and the tunnels connecting them have been completed. Track laying in the tunnels is near completion. Entrance structures, architectural and Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) fitting out works in all six stations are progressing well.
Stage 3: Mount Pleasant - Stevens - Napier - Orchard Boulevard - Orchard - Great World - Havelock - Outram Park - Maxwell - Shenton Way - Marina Bay - Marina South - Gardens by the Bay
TEL Stage 3 is about 75% complete. Structural works for stations and the tunnels connecting them are near completion. Track laying in the tunnels, architectural and E&M fitting out works are in progress for most stations.
Stage 4: *Founders’ Memorial - Tanjong Rhu - Katong Park - Tanjong Katong - Marine Parade - Marine Terrace - Siglap - Bayshore
TEL Stage 4 is about 50% complete. Stations’ retaining wall works are near completion, and excavation and structural works for all stations are in progress. Tunnelling works are progressing well.

Stage 5: Bedok South - Sungei Bedok
TEL Stage 5 is about 35% complete. Stations’ retaining wall works are in progress, in tandem with road and utility diversions. Retaining walls for construction of the East Coast Integrated Depot have been completed, with excavation and structural works progressing well.
