The Land Transport Authority has converted Ryde Technologies Pte Ltd’s existing provisional licences for Point-to-Point (P2P) services to a full three-year Ride-hail Service Operator Licence (RSOL) and a full three-year Car pool Service Operator Licence (CSOL).
Under LTA’s P2P regulatory framework, operators with 800 or more vehicles on their platforms will be licensed based on the type of services they provide – street-hail, ride-hail or car pool services.
At the commencement of this framework on 30 October 2020, Ryde was awarded one-year provisional licences to offer Ride-Hail and Car pool services. This allowed Ryde to provide ride-hail services and car pool services while they improve their operational capabilities in order to meet LTA’s regulatory standards for safety and service provision before they are considered for full RSOL and CSOL licences.
Over the past year, the company has demonstrated that they are able to meet LTA’s regulatory standards for full licensees. Therefore, LTA will convert Ryde Technologies Pte Ltd’s licences to full RSOL and CSOL which are valid until 29 October 2023.
With today’s announcement, there are now five operators with full RSOL and two operators with full CSOL (details below).
