The Kranji Expressway (KJE) / Senja Road Interchange which provides full vehicular connection between Senja Road to KJE and Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), will be opened on 17 December 2022. The completed road interchange allows residents, primarily in Senja, Jelapang and Segar, a direct and shorter travelling route to and fro both bounds of the two expressways.
2. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) commenced works to construct the new flyover across KJE to Senja Road and enhancements to the adjacent road network in November 2017. Since early this year, LTA has been progressively opening the interchange and making corresponding changes to adjacent roads. A section of the new flyover to KJE (PIE, Tuas) & Woodlands Road was opened in January this year. Subsequently, Senja Link and part of Senja Road was converted to a one-way road in April to expand the road capacity, in anticipation of the increase in traffic in the area.
3. Parts of the flyover, allowing outbound traffic from Senja Road to BKE, was opened on 25 September and residents now already enjoy the direct and shorter travelling routes towards BKE. The opening of the remaining section of the flyover on 17 December will now allow residents to return to Bukit Panjang via a more direct and shorter route from KJE/BKE.
4. Ahead of its opening, LTA has engaged local residents and stakeholders on the changes to the road network. Informational and directional traffic signs will also be put up in the vicinity closer to the opening of the slip roads to guide road users.
