Free Regular and Bridging Bus Services Available
From Start of Passenger Service
There will be no train service on the East-West Line (EWL) between Jurong East and Buona Vista stations on 26 September 2024.
2. LTA and SMRT engineers commenced recovery works since the afternoon after the rains stopped and will continue into the night. However, given the extent of works, more time is required to thoroughly check the track, and do the necessary repairs and replacements.
3. Free regular and bridging bus services between Boon Lay and Queenstown stations will continue to be available on 26 September. To ensure that commuters can continue their journeys, shuttle train service between Buona Vista to Queenstown stations, and also between Jurong East to Boon Lay stations, will operate at 10-minute intervals.
4. To manage the expected high volume of passengers transferring from trains to buses at Jurong East and Buona Vista stations, we will continue to deploy more bridging buses, including double-deck buses as well as staff to manage crowds at these bus bridging points.
5. We are aware that national examinations will begin tomorrow. The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board have assured examination candidates that they will not be penalised for being late due to train service disruptions. Candidates will be given the full duration of the paper if they reach the examination centre before the end of the paper. Parents can refer to MOE’s social media platforms for more information.
6. For transport updates, commuters are advised to check SMRT and LTA’s social media platforms, as well as LTA’s MyTransport app.
7. LTA and SMRT will perform a rigorous investigation into the cause of the incident and provide an update in due course.
