Continuing efforts made to enhance features

Media Replies 01 Dec 2025 On-Board Unit (OBU)

We thank Mr Zainal Abdul Karim for his suggestions to enhance the Electronic Road Pricing 2.0 On-Board Unit (OBU) display ("Consider displaying more traffic information", Nov 25).

Since the launch of the OBU, we have introduced several enhancements including speed camera zone alerts, flood alerts, as well as a payment feature for missed ERP charges to be made directly via the OBU.

Just earlier this week, on 26 November, we began rolling out traffic incident alerts through the OBU. For a start, the OBU will display real-time traffic updates on incidents along expressways and slip roads. These alerts will be progressively expanded to other roads in the coming months.

On the suggestion to display speed limits for all roads, we will explore this as part of our continuing efforts to introduce more useful OBU features for motorists.

To date, 87% of vehicles in Singapore have installed the OBU. We encourage the remaining motorists to make an appointment for their OBU installation as soon as practicable.
