The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has converted Geo Lah Pte Ltd (Geolah)‘s and Trans-cab Services Pte Ltd (Trans-Cab)’s existing 1-year provisional licences for Point-to-Point transport (P2P) services to full 3-year Ride-hail Service Operator Licences (RSOL).
2. Geolah and Trans-Cab were awarded 1-year provisional licences on 23 December 2024, which allowed them to provide ride-hail services from 1 Jan 2025, while they improve their operational capabilities to meet LTA’s regulatory standards for safety and service provision before they are considered for a full 3-year RSOL. Under LTA’s P2P regulatory framework, operators with 800 or more bookable vehicles on their platforms will be licensed based on the type of services they provide – street-hail, ride-hail or car-pool services.
3. Over the past year, the two operators have demonstrated that they are able to meet LTA’s regulatory standards for full licences. Therefore, LTA will convert Geolah and Trans-Cab's 1-year provisional licences to full 3-year RSOLs that will be valid from 1 Jan 2025 to 31 December 2027.
4. With this, there will be more ride-hailing choices in Singapore, with seven operators holding full RSOLs (details below).
