The Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) preliminary findings on the technical issues affecting the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) system for buses indicate that there is an intermittent transmission issue with the on-board systems for some buses, which resulted in missing bus arrival predictions for a small proportion of buses across our bus network.
2 To resolve this issue, LTA will reset the ETA system from 8pm today (21 January 2026). During the system reset, bus arrival time predictions will not be available. Commuters will not be able to see the buses’ ETA at touchpoints such as the electronic passenger information displays at bus stops and interchanges, apps like MyTransport.SG and third-party apps such as CityMapper and Google. We will update commuters once the ETA system is back up.
3 During this period, bus operations will not be affected, and all bus services will continue to operate at their usual frequencies. Commuters can refer to the websites of SimplyGo and the Public Transport Operators (PTOs) for information on the planned frequency of bus services.
4 We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our engineers and ETA system contractors are working with the bus operators to rectify the issue urgently.
