Commuters are reminded that from 17 January to 19 April 2026, LTA is undertaking essential tunnel strengthening works in two tunnels connecting Mountbatten, Dakota and Paya Lebar stations on the Circle Line (CCL). During this period, shuttle trains will operate on a single platform between Paya Lebar and Mountbatten stations using one tunnel, at headways of 10 minutes.

2.        Commuters should factor in additional waiting times of up to 30 minutes during peak hours and consider other travel options besides the affected stretch on the CCL, such as other MRT lines and regular bus services plying the affected stretches.

3.        To supplement CCL train services during peak hours on weekdays, the shuttle bus services listed below have been deployed. These services commenced on 5 January, giving commuters time to familiarise themselves with alternative travel routes. Please refer to Annex A for details of the shuttle bus services.

(i)      Shuttle bus service 38 between Paya Lebar and Stadium MRT stations, operating between 6.30am to 9.30 am and 5pm to 8pm, at headways of 6 to 10 minutes;
(ii)     One-way shuttle bus service 37A from Serangoon MRT station to Tai Seng, Macpherson and Paya Lebar MRT stations in the morning from 7am to 9am at headways of about 3 to 5 minutes;
(iii)    One-way shuttle bus service 37B from Tai Seng MRT station to Bishan MRT station from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at headways of about 3 to 5 minutes; and
(iv)    One-way shuttle bus service 37C from Tai Seng MRT station to Serangoon MRT station from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at headways of about 3 to 5 minutes.

4.        During morning peak hours, Shuttles 37A and 38 will be served by a fleet of 44 buses. During evening peak hours, Shuttles 37B, 37C and 38 will also operate with the same fleet size of 44 buses to supplement CCL train services.

5.        For the most updated details, commuters may refer to LTA’s MyTransport.SG mobile app and LTA’s and SMRT’s social media platforms. SMRT staff will be stationed at affected stations to assist commuters during the train service adjustments period.
