The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be extending the existing Sunday Cycling Lane at West Camp Road to include Seletar Aerospace Drive and Punggol Barat Drive. The 6.6km extension will increase the total length of the Sunday Cycling Lane at Seletar Aerospace Park from 4.6km to 11.2km, providing cyclists with a longer and more continuous route. Works will commence in November, and the extended route will be ready for use by the first quarter of 2027.

2.        The Sunday Cycling Lane is a dedicated on-road cycling lane that operates on Sunday mornings from 5am to 11am. It was first introduced as a six-month trial at West Camp Road in October 2022 to assess the feasibility of providing dedicated road space for larger group cycling during periods of low vehicular traffic. Following positive outcomes from the trial, the Sunday Cycling Lane was made permanent in April 2023.

3.        The Sunday Cycling Lane has been well utilised since its implementation, and both traffic conditions and bus operations have remained smooth. LTA has also engaged the Singapore Cycling Federation and stakeholders along Seletar Aerospace Drive and received broad support for the initiative. Given the positive support and observations, LTA will extend the Sunday Cycling Lane and provide a longer, continuous cycling route around the Seletar Aerospace Park.

4.        The extended cycling route will adopt similar design and operating guidelines to the existing Sunday Cycling Lane at West Camp Road. The lane will be demarcated by solid blue lane markings except near junctions and development accesses where the lane is demarcated by dotted blue lane markings and red transverse markings.

5.        Motorists may use the areas demarcated by dotted blue lanes and red transverse markings to turn into and out of roads during cycling lane hours and should filter onto these stretches with care as cyclists and buses may be using the lane. Cyclists are reminded to stay within the cycling lane and obey traffic signals. During non-operational hours of the Sunday Cycling Lane, cyclists are strongly reminded to comply with prevailing cycling regulations, including the group size requirements and traffic rules.
