Bus Arrival Time Predictions Returning to Normal

News Releases 07 Feb 2026 bus services Expected Time of Arrival (ETA)

As of today, the availability of bus arrival timings has been restored to above 90%. Instances of missing arrival timings or longer headways are expected to continue to decrease as the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) system performance stabilises.

2            Since 21 January, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been working with the system contractor to restore the performance of the ETA system, where buses were not able to transmit location data to the central server. The restoration involved clearing the memory cache and manually updating firmware for the transmitters on 4,000 buses. In some cases, the transmitters had to be replaced.

3            LTA has also started upgrading the fare and bus fleet management systems, which will be completed within the next two years.

4          We thank commuters for their patience during this period and apologise for the inconvenience caused.
