From 1 April 2026, members of the public will be able to ride autonomous shuttle in Punggol. This was announced by Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow at MOT’s Committee of Supply today.
2. The autonomous shuttles operated by Grab in Punggol have undergone extensive testing, accumulating over 25,000 km of safe and reliable autonomous[1] driving. Since by-invite community rides commenced on 12 January 2026, around 740 people have taken these autonomous shuttles. 99% shared positive feedback that they would recommend the service to others.
3. Members of the public will be able to register online for a ride on Routes 1 and 3 from 25 March 2026. The rides will be free for an initial period, before revenue services commence. This will allow more people to experience the AV technology and provide feedback so that the operator can make improvements that will benefit commuters.
4. We expect revenue service for these two routes to begin from mid 2026 at a flat fare of $4 per passenger. This will enhance connectivity to key amenities and transport nodes for residents within Punggol, and cut their travel times on public transport by up to 15 minutes.
5. The autonomous shuttles on Route 2 operated by ComfortDelgro are undergoing familiarisation. They are expected to commence by-invite rides soon. More details will be shared when ready.
6. LTA will continue to closely monitor the autonomous shuttles’ performance to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
