We refer to the letter from Lu Wenguan on “Regulating illegal parking in private housing estates” (20 May 2026).
In private housing estates, including Telok Kurau, LTA works closely with residents to ensure that parking measures on public roads are practical and tailored to local conditions, while being mindful of community relations.
LTA would like to remind all motorists to park their vehicles responsibly and safely at designated parking locations to prevent obstructing, inconveniencing, or endangering other road users. Those who park illegally may face penalties and/or demerit points. First time offenders can be fined up to $300 while repeat offenders face higher penalties. Members of the public who encounter illegal parking can report it via the Municipal Service Office OneService App.
